Recirquel: My Land

Recirquel Company was founded in 2012 by director-choreographer Bence Vági and has grown to become one of the world's leading new circus companies. From the beginning, Bence Vági aimed to create a Hungarian New Circus movement in Central and Eastern Europe, combining the New Circus with dance and theatre in a unique way.

The creation of My Land was a milestone in the development of this new genre. Focusing on the eternal relationship between humanity and Mother Earth, and the roots of human existence, the production was presented at the 2018 Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where it was voted the best of 4,000 programs by festival critics

Featuring seven world-class Ukrainian artists, the production fuses contemporary dance with theatre and circus arts to focus on and depict the roots of humanity, the eternal relationship between man and mother earth, in a space full of illusions. Pushing the boundaries of the human body, the performance evokes echoes of humanity's most ancient myths.

The artists rise from a stage covered with earth to explore the triad of tradition, freedom, and love, inspired by their personal life stories, all in an interplay of light and shadow. Featuring authentic Tatar and Moldavian music recordings, the performance speaks the language of cirque dance - a breathtaking production with the explosive power of Eastern European artistry.

The performance lasts 60 minutes.
