Artist description
To all of those who love music and nature, both in their pure state: we are happy to invite you for the second time to attend Smida Jazz Festival, an open-air international event dedicated to contemporary jazz, which will take place between the 25th and the 27th of August, right in the heart of the Apuseni Natural Park, more precisely in the picturesque village of Smida (Beliș, Cluj), which is located on an asphalt road, almost 90 km from Cluj-Napoca.
In this enchanting natural setting, during daytime, various open-air activities will be held and once the sun sets, we will explore the ”jazzistic” sounds of 9 bands, not only from Romania, but from abroad, as well, 3 bands per day, for 3 days. This edition’s lineup features GoGo Penguin – Great Britain (for the first time in Romania), Bugge Wesseltoft’s New Conception of Jazz - Norway, Tingvall Trio - Germany, Eric Vloeimans’ Gatecrash – the Netherlands (for the first time in Romania), The Kandinsky Effect - France (for the first time in Romania), Sickpicnic - Hungary, Iordache, JazzyBIT and Trompetre - Romania.
On the festival’s premises, a food court and bars will be set up, while the camping and the parking place are located alongside. Besides the camping, there is the accommodation alternative at one of the guesthouses in the area.
The summer evenings, blessed with live jazz chords among the peaks of the Apuseni mountains, are not far, so buy now your 99 lei pass (a 3-day festival pass), valid between the 3rd of April and the 20th of August, 2017. The final price, valid between the 21st and the 25th of August, will be 119 lei, while the one-day ticket (day 1/2/3 ticket) costs 45 lei. A camping pass can be purchased as well (a 3-day camping pass), for 35 lei. Children under the age of 14 and the disabled persons (together with their attendant) benefit from free entry, both to the festival and to the camping, based on the corresponding supporting documents.
