DAY 2
Welcome to our Frequenza Festival!
Our second day, The Impressions, immerses the audience in a world of evocative soundscapes, where impressionist sensibilities take center stage. The program explores the rich, atmospheric works of Ysaye, Kodály, and Glazunov, each piece offering a unique window into the emotive power of music, followed by an exhilarating performance of brass repertoire known as “Kopf Kino” that promises to captivate the imagination.
The journey begins with the Ysaye's Sonata for Two Violins in A Minor, Op. Posth., a work that moves between poignant introspection and intense virtuosic energy, performed by Pavel Berman and Eva Bindere.
Next, together with Jing Zhao and Maria Meerovitch, we enter the evocative world of Kodály with his Sonatina for Cello and Piano, a piece that celebrates the Hungarian composer’s mastery of melody and texture.
The first half of the program concludes with Glazunov’s String Quintet in A Major, Op. 39. Immersing the audience in the Russian composer’s musical language, will be Pavel Berman, Eva Bindere, Roman Spitzer, Zvi Plesser, and Jing Zhao.
After intermission, the experience takes a thrilling turn with Kopf Kino, a groundbreaking brass performance that showcases the power of brass instruments to conjure vivid, cinematic imagery. Performed by David Taylor, Elias Faingersch, and Sergei Nakariakov, this unique blend of brass repertoire explores the evocative possibilities of sound, transforming the concert hall into a space where the imagination runs wild.
The Impressions is a day of contrasts—delicate lyricism, fiery passion, and cinematic exploration. Don’t miss this extraordinary journey through sound and imagination!
